Kapangpangan's Best (part 1) - Prado Farm

I love food and I love country living. I am a legit "PROBINSYANA".

Pampanga is know as the "Culinary Center of the Philippines". Pampanga cuisine is highly regarded as one of the best cuisine in the country. Prado farm is a five hectares property owned by artist Reimon Gutierrez. The entire prado farm is a huge junk of art.

I enjoy their food, the place and most specially the farm. My husband used to raised piglets together with my mother-in-law for quite a long time. Just like Reimon parents my parents-in-law never threw anything away, the reason my family and all of my husbands siblings have a lots of old things that we make useful. Our home is a living example that frugality is character by old people (lolo, lola, lolo sa tuhod, etc) that benifits us younger generation( i will post it soon). PRADO FARM is not for everybody. If you have a deep appreciation of country living, need to take your time to slow down - you will definitely enjoy the farm.

The main gate is made of propane tanks. Prado farm used to be a warehouse for LPG tanks

BICOL Express Road Trip

Every month of September,  I together with my husband and if times permit including the children as well we visit " INA" Our Lady of Penafrancia. Either before or after  the feast day, because I could pray solemnly. I started this devotion September of 2007, my first time to visit Naga City. So after visitng INA,  visiting Chef's Doy place is always next to our itenirary. I learned to cook TINOLANG MANOK using melon from him instead of papaya or sayote and my family loves it, the sweetness of melon make it heaven for the kids.

If the kids is with us we usually stay at Villa Caseres Hotel for an overnight stay but if its just my husband and I,  its a 24/7 driving (alternately) to save time and money. This is are yearly road trip that we truly enjoy. A visit to UGU BIGYAN place in Tiaong, Quezon is a break from our long driving Bulacan-Naga-Bulacan. Ugu Bigyan is a known potter here in our country and we love his work.

GARDENING- Unconventional way to de stress

My last post is exactly a year ago October 4, 2011. I have missed doing a lot of things for myself and now  I have some of my  list of things to do after my 48yrs of existence for myself - since I am getting bigger/heavier I will spend more time taking care of my health,so, I started running again around Vmall/shopsville area every morning and to write again for my blog to exercise my mind.

                                                           eggplant, tomato, alugbati, sili,

Third  to cooking and reading, for me GARDENING is one of the many unconventional ways to de stress and release tension. It has many benefits -  offers fresh air, sunshine, mental therapy, and nutritious fresh vegetables.

Since I am staying on weekdays at our place in Greenhills it is only during weekends that I can attend to my vegies and plants in Meycauayan, Next project - a small garden haven in our  place here in Greenhills.

FAMILY BONDING THRU FOOD

Our family love Japanese cuisine. Once a month we see to it that we try to escaped from our busy schedule at home, business and school. WE always look for a new destination. Whether it is a long drive or short drive, my husband and I always find time for it. It is the time were we truly bond with each other, no computer, no PSP, no phone just us with our four lovely kids.
