Nanay Tetchie's Baon Ideas Part 2

Nanay Tetchie's Baon Ideas Part 2

As a mother I am very meticulous in preparing food for my family. I dont prepare pangbaon food from our breakfast leftover. I always prepare freshly cook/made food for them ( in a bulk). They were away from me during weekdays (dorm and condo).

Here's another recipe that I would like to share with you which I found in Yummy Magazine June 2014 issue

JAPANESE SIOMAI

Often served as dimsum, instead of preparing it the regular way with siomai wrapper I used NORI sheet instead.  The main ingredients here is ground pork and beef, Kani crab stick and Nori sheet, cooking procedure is the same with the regular siomai/dumpling, I steamed it. My children love japanese food, specially sushi. To make it more appealing to them i prepared it defferently and they love it..........

RAINBOW BRIGHT

I am proud to share that my children loves vegetable........Thanks to Yummy Magazine June 2014 they gave me an idea on how will I prepare this wonderful fruit/veggie salad.  I do not have an available MASON jar(now on my what to buy list this month) so I used disposable container instead.

Its called Rainbow because you have to arranged it like the color of a rainbow. Eating by colors will help my kids get a variety of nutrients.

Broil Pompano with guava-butter sauce

Sinigang sa kamias na Pompano

The citrus juice from kamias is the best soup base for any fish sour soup dish.

ONE IMPORTANT KEY TO THIS DISH IS THE FRESHNESS OF THE FISH.

HEALTHY EATING............................My obsession for 2014

I am on my way on celebrating my 50 years of existence in this world. Aside from this numbers all the signs are there-------white hair, erratic blood pressure, pre menopausal syndromes are felt, arthritis,etc..........

Now my obsession this 2014 is to start by practicing healthy eating.

My target is to start by eating a balanced diet in healthy portions combined with regular exercise.

STEAMED FOOD.........
CREATE A PLATE.........way of eating
BAKED.................

CREATING A PLATE

Green salad, baked squash and tilapia fillet breaded with oatmeal
This is a once complete meal and my kids and my husband enjoyed it as well.

Creating a plate is simple, just start by drawing an imaginary line. Fill the large section with non-starchy vegetables, in one small sections with starchy foods and grain and the other small section , protein.

STEAM SEAFOOD

Once a week we always have sea foods in our table. Some people afraid of buying sea foods because for them its synonymous with the word EXPENSIVE......Well a small crabs can be a replacement for big crabs or ALIMANGO and we love it.

Steamed small crabs

steamed oyster, mussels and salmon

BAKED VEGGIES

Sweet corn and Potato

Buttered lemon sauce and  Garlic TABASCO (my favorite condiments of all times)
This sauces are hard habit to break

I knew there's a lot of good eating habit that will slowly introduce me to a new daily healthy lifestyle.
